Your Porsche is a sleek, comfortable, and powerful vehicle that is built to the highest quality standards. You want to enjoy all the benefits your Porsche provides for as long as possible. Keeping a Porsche healthy requires regular servicing and maintenance. As your Porsche Center, we want you to know more about some of the varied levels of Porsche service we provide.

3 Types of Porsche Service Your Porsche Center Can Provide

Brake Pad Replacement

The brake pads have a friction-producing 1/2″ thick cover and fit into the brake calipers. When you hit the brakes, the calipers are forced against either side of the moving wheel rotors. The pads generate friction against the smooth rotor surfaces, and this action brings the wheels to a stop. The friction covering on the pads slowly wears off, and when this covering drops to 1/4″ thickness, the pad needs replacement.

Sensors connected to the pads will identify worn pads, and the brake pad warning light on your dash will illuminate. You’ll also hear a screeching noise when you brake, which is caused by a metal spike in the worn pad scratching against the wheel rotor. We can replace worn brake pads very quickly, and you’ll notice that your brakes will slow and stop your Porsche much faster.

Engine Mount Replacement

A Porsche engine generates enormous power, and the engine must be securely connected to the frame to prevent the engine from moving and damaging itself. The engine is joined to the frame by two liquid-filled rubber mounts. The liquid in the mount works like a shock absorber to insulate the engine from vibrations as you drive.

Over time, the rubber mounts can become less flexible. The reduced flexibility may cause a mount to crack and the liquid will leak out. The engine can’t break free from the mount, but it will move slightly. This movement produces a thudding sound as you drive. Our technicians will examine the mounts, and we’ll replace them if they’re damaged.

Starter Replacement

The starter initiates the physical cranking action that brings your engine to life by starting the combustion process. It’s powered by your car battery, which sends a powerful electrical charge to the starter when you hit the start button on your dash. The starter is a relatively robust component, but it can wear out or become damaged.

A failing starter will usually be preceded by starting difficulties. You may also notice that your engine takes longer to crank than it should. It’s also possible that the starter may work perfectly, but the starter solenoid has failed or the wiring might be loose or damaged. We’ll investigate and repair the issue or replace a damaged starter.
